If it's worldwide slavery I could understand it. That shit lasted 1,000's of years.

One chapter in this Thomas Sowell book puts the US slavery in perspective.

 

My favorite part was him debunking the 3/5th of a human that slaves counted as. He clarifies some things

1) If the southern slave owners got to count their slaves as a full person for representation, then they would have been stronger than the north.

2) 3/5th count did not apply to free black men.
