The State Board of Education in Texas has voted to drop several historical figures, including Hillary Clinton, Barry Goldwater and Helen Keller, from the state’s required social studies curriculum to "streamline" the material for millions of public school students.
If it's worldwide slavery I could understand it. That shit lasted 1,000's of years.
One chapter in this Thomas Sowell book puts the US slavery in perspective.
My favorite part was him debunking the 3/5th of a human that slaves counted as. He clarifies some things
1) If the southern slave owners got to count their slaves as a full person for representation, then they would have been stronger than the north.
2) 3/5th count did not apply to free black men.
Make him listen to that chapter. Great counterpoints.
