Their business model is based on complete invasion of privacy which they use to amass huge knowledge of every person they encounter, they then sell your info to advertisers but as we are seeing now, they also use that info to censor/influence communication / political speech in ways disadvantageous to the Right. they also hide profits in Ireland, Bahamas, etc. and are generally typical lefties not paying any tax but demanding you pay for their pet immigrants healthcare. They need de-politicization regulation and a tax on their monopoly profits.

Natural monopolies (Google has 75%of online ad spend) are a species of MARKET FAILURE and require intervention in order to keep their power over consumers in check. See Sherman AntiTrust Act and similar for the thought process behind it, it is sound thinking. Iโ€™m an institutional investor in my day job so the commie comment is a throw away.

The distinction youโ€™re making between private and public companies is really just about whether or not their shares trade on a public exchange: both private (non-listed) and public (exchange-listed) companies are held by private interests.

State-owned enterprises are the socialist (โ€œpublicโ€) enterprises, there are few government controlled corps in the US, but there are a lot in China etc. where a minority of the shares have been listed on the stock exchange but the government maintains tight control.
