Attention Memeanons/Twatanons:

Might want to be prepared to alter an image so that once it's been parsed/recognized/human-vetted by social media and they have decided to add it to their suppression database, you can post an altered copy and bypass the algorithms for a while.

Easy ways to alter an existing image:

  1. Save in different format. GIF, PNG, JPEG

  2. Resize the image. Even a little bit, and that image will have a completely different checksum/hash.

  3. Insert a pixel someplace where it won't be noticed.

  4. Change the aspect ratio. For example chop off 1 row of pixels from the bottom or side.

  5. Change the contrast or color saturation slightly. The most miniscule change will result in a totally different image, from image recognition perspective.

  6. If the image is compressed, change the compression level. E.g. if it is a PNG saved with compression level 5, change the level to 4 or 6 and save.

I also accept co-gimpfag's suggestion a few breads back to locally save images in gimp's internal XCF format. I hadn't been doing that because p.i.t.a., but at this point it becomes necessary – will make image alteration MUCH easier for gimpfag autistes.

We march onward.

I recommend not using

>#FUCKHUSSEIN

Why?

  1. Many people don't even know who we mean when we say Hussein. They call that guy Obama.

  2. There are a ton of people, fundamentalist Christians etc., who will refrain from forwarding anything that contains "profanity".

So it's not about expressing yourself, but about selecting keywords and hashtags that will be most effective in getting the word out.

Think about it.
