Texas Farm Bureau bans employees from wearing Nike merchandise

 

TYLER, Texas (KETK) - The Texas Farm Bureau told employees they're not allowed to wear Nike apparel while working.

 

Texas Farm Bureau vision is to maintain a prosperous agriculture and ensure that family's have a viable, domestic source of food, fiber and fuel, according to the website.

 

The company made their decision weeks after Nike made the NFL player, Colin Kaepernick, the face of their new campaign. Kaepernick kneeled during the national anthem to protest racial inequality.

 

According to thehill, the bureau spokesperson, Gene Hill, sent out an email that said:

 

“There is a wide range of viewpoints on the Nike controversy." "We are choosing to remove our companies from this controversy by discontinuing the use of Nike branded apparel for business purposes, the attire you choose on your own time is a personal matter."

 

Nike stocks are also on the rise from the Nike advertisement and are currently closing deals at lower rates.
