Someone made a comment on a news article, they claim they lived near by and you could hear loud noises (they suspected drilling) and explosions coming from the area around the observatory. That was 2012. They claim it was a containment breech of some sort coming from the facility below the observatory.
Personally, i think there is a facility under the observatory but i think it stores evidence, maybe human trafficking type stuff. Seems more plausible then meh plebs.
