Grassley Sends Letter to Feinstein Demanding Copy of Unredacted Letter Christine Ford Sent Feinstein in July

Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley is on a roll.

Senator Grassley (R-IA) sent ranking member of the Judiciary Committee, Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) a letter demanding an unredacted copy of the letter accuser Christine Blasey Ford sent Senate Democrats in July.

Grassley suggested Feinstein deployed Christine Ford’s letter strategically for political gain after sitting on it for seven weeks.

Feinstein also circulated Christine Ford’s unredacted letter to her staff –which of course was subsequently leaked to the media–Grassley, the Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee says he still hasn’t seen the unredacted letter even though he has after repeatedly asked for the document.

“Sexual assault allegations deserve serious attention, and those who make such allegations must be

heard. They should not be deployed strategically for political gain.” Grassly wrote. “You received this letter

approximately seven weeks ago. But the contents of the letter were leaked only last week when it

appeared the Senate was about to confirm Judge Kavanaugh. “

Last Thursday, Senator Dianne Feinstein referred a mysterious letter about Kavanaugh to the FBI after holding onto it for months.

She started a firestorm by holding onto this letter about Kavanaugh then releasing it at the 11th hour in a “me too” ambush in an effort to delay Kavanaugh’s confirmation.

Dianne Feinstein admitted Tuesday that she “can’t say that everything is truthful” about the sexual assault allegations against Kavanaugh brought forth by far-left activist Christine Ford.

Chuck Grassley laid down the law in a letter sent to Christine Blasey Ford’s attorney on Wednesday afternoon.

Grassley concluded his letter by giving Christine Blasey Ford a Friday morning deadline to respond.

“Dr. Ford’s prepared testimony and biography are due to the Committee by 10 a.m. on Friday September 21, if she intends to testify Monday,” Grassley said.

So far it looks like Christine Ford will be a no-show Monday for the hearing.

Satellite Operator Says Released Photos of Israeli Airstrikes in Syrian Latakia

TEL AVIV (Sputnik) – Israeli satellite operator ImageSat International (iSi) published satellite photos of what it called an ammunition warehouse destroyed as a result of the recent Israeli airstrikes in Syria’s eastern province of Latakia, during which a Russian Il-20 aircraft with 15 servicemen on board crashed.

"The ammunition warehouse [stricken] two day ago in #Latakia, #Syria, is completely destroyed," the company wrote in the caption to the pictures, published on Twitter late on Wednesday.

The Russian Hmeymim airbase lost contact with the Il-20 military aircraft late on Monday during the attack of four Israeli F-16 aircraft on Syrian targets in Latakia. All 15 personnel on board the plane were killed in the crash.

The Israeli military maintained it had targeted a facility where equipment to be transferred to the Lebanese Hezbollah movement on behalf of Iran had been stored. Moreover, Israel put the blame for the Russian plane crash on the Syrian army, saying it had fired indiscriminately and did not ensure that no Russian aircraft had been in the air.

The Russian Defense Ministry, in its turn, argued that the Israeli military deliberately created a dangerous situation by using the Russian aircraft as a shield against Syrian air defense systems.

On Thursday, an Israeli military delegation led by Air Force Commander Maj. Gen. Amikam Norkin will travel to Moscow to release information about the Il-20 crash.

Major Bug in Bitcoin Code Could Have Wrecked the Currency

The most famous cryptocurrency in the world just patched a disastrous weak point that could have crashed the whole network.

On Tuesday, developers of Bitcoin Core – the software used to power the Bitcoin blockchain – released a note announcing that they'd patched a vulnerability that would have allowed a user to interfere with network and crash it, making the digital coins practically useless. The bug was described by a Bitcoin.org co-owner, whose Twitter handle is @CobraBitcoin, as “very scary.”

“For less than $80,000, you could have brought down the entire network,” Emin Gün Sirer, an associate professor of computer science at Cornell University, told Vice. “That is less money than what a lot of entities would pay for a zero-day attack on many systems.”

The bug was found in the Bitcoin Core code itself, which is a software implementation used by several other cryptocurrencies. Litecoin, for example, patched it on Tuesday. The technical documentation described the bug as a “denial-of-service vulnerability.” The exploit allowed miners — who run computers to generate a number that adds a block of Bitcoin transactions to the blockchain, granting them new coins of the cryptocurrency — to create "poisonous" blocks that try to spend the same coin twice.

Bitcoin relies on a peer-to-peer network of “nodes” to enforce the blockchain’s rules, perhaps the most important of which disallows users from making multiple transactions with one coin. Normally, any such request would simply be rejected by the network, but the poisoned block, if added to the blockchain, would have crashed the software of any Bitcoin Core user who received it. If the exploit spread across the network, it could have fractured it into smaller parts, or even brought it down it entirely.

“There would have likely been a flurry of activity by the community to bring the system back online after such an attack, and it would not likely have been catastrophic but definitely disruptive,” Sirer said, noting that a miner who created a poisoned block would lose out on 12.5 Bitcoins — under $80,000 USD at the cryptocurrency’s current value. While that may seem like a lot of money down the drain, it would be a small price to pay for an attacker — or group of attackers — who wanted to render the blockchain unusable.

The patch was released for Bitcoin Core-based cryptocurrencies, but only in the newest version of the software, making smaller cryptocurrencies using older or copycat versions of the code still vulnerable to attacks using the exploit.

President Donald Trump is angry at the deputy who has done the most to implement his campaign promise to end illegal immigration — Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

Trump is angry largely because he feels Sessions allowed the Democrats to launch the Mueller investigation. Trump told TheHill.com:

I don’t have an attorney general. It’s very sad. I’m not happy at the border, I’m not happy with numerous things, not just this … everyone of my cabinet members is doing great. I just have one group that’s not been good. You know what that group is.

But Sessions’ “Department of Justice is absolutely critical to achieving Trump’s immigration agenda,” said Jessica Vaughan, policy director at the Center for Immigration Studies.

Sessions runs “the immigration courts and the prosecution of criminal aliens and other serious immigration violators,” she said. In contrast, DoJ officials under President George W. Bush deferred to the cheap-labor demands of business, she said.

“The other important reason the administration need Jeff Sessions as AG is that every serious move the administrations takes to restore integrity in the system is being challenged in courts,” she said. “We need Jeff Sessions and his team to understand the issues and how to defend the President’s agenda from these legal attacks, but also to pick the right people for defending them in court.”

Sessions is using his broad authority to implement Trump’s agenda amid passive opposition from the GOP, active hostility from Democrats, and desperate lobbying by business groups.

Elite Democrats portray themselves as nobly offering sanctuary to victims of foreign injustice while they also gain economically from cheap blue-collar workers, including waiters, fruit-pickers, gardeners and maids. Democrats also do gain politically whenever immigrants become voters and seek government aid in a high-immigration/low wage economy.

Largest U.S. Public Pension Fund Looks to Hand Over Control to Chinese Official

The largest U.S. public pension fund has offered an official with China’s State Administration of Foreign Exchange its top investment job, according to a Wall Street Journal report citing “people familiar with the matter.”

The California Public Employees’ Retirement System, better known as CALPERS, has offered the job of chief investment officer to Ben Meng, the Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday. Meng is an official of China’s State Administration of Foreign Exchange, its foreign exchange regulator.

The State Administration of Foreign Exchange is the agency that oversees China’s foreign currency reserves and was central to its currency manipulation schemes, according to people familiar with the matter.

CALPERS has enormous sway over investment in the U.S., managing $360 billion in assets to fund the state’s retirement obligations to police officers, firefighters, and other public employees. In 2016, Fortune described CALPERS as “one of its most influential institutional investors” in the US.

Meng hadn’t signed an offer letter as of Wednesday morning, according to the Wall Street Journal

Calpers’s next investment chief would join a fund that is debating the direction of its roughly $27 billion private-equity program. Calpers, as part of a review of that portfolio, is exploring plans to farm out billions to pools that will take stakes in private companies.

Any moves made by Calpers, which is responsible for benefits to more than 1.9 million active or retired public employees, will be watched closely in the pension world. The system is considered a bellwether for investment trends. Calpers and many other public retirement systems around the country are struggling to meet their return targets as they try to fill sizable funding gaps.

The pick of Meng, who previously worked at CALPERS, is likely to spark controversy. The Trump administration has increased monitoring on Chinese investment in the U.S. Placing a Chinese official in charge of such a large pool of U.S. investment assets will undoubtedly attract criticism from the administration’s China hawks.

Pope Welcomes U2’s Bono Months After He Campaigned for Abortion in Ireland

Pope Francis granted pop singer Bono a private audience in the Vatican Wednesday, just months after the U2 singer publicly campaigned to legalize abortion in his native Ireland.

After their half-hour meeting, Bono said that Francis had been “incredibly gracious with his time, his concentration.”

They just “let the conversation go where it wanted to go,” Bono said, conversing on “big themes,” such as the future of commerce and how it might serve sustainable development goals.

Among the various points reportedly discussed by the two men, abortion was not among them.

Last May, the Irish rock band U2 tweeted their support for legalizing abortion in Ireland, which band members later justified as being the “smart thing to do” for Ireland.

After tweeting a photo endorsing the “Repeal the 8th” campaign for Ireland’s abortion referendum, U2 received a barrage of overwhelmingly negative replies, with many voicing their decision to stop supporting the band or attending its concerts.

After his papal audience Wednesday, Bono told reporters he had explained to Francis that to some observers it looks like “the abusers are being more protected than the victims,” in reference to the recent scandals dealing with clerical sex abuse.

Bono reported that he could “see the pain” in the pope’s face. “I felt he was sincere, and I think he’s an extraordinary man for extraordinary times,” Bono said.

On Tuesday morning, Pope Francis compared bishops who are accused with malfeasance to Jesus before his executioners and recommended they keep silent as Jesus did.

When people insulted Jesus on Good Friday and shouted, “Crucify him,” the pope said in his morning homily, “he remained silent because he had compassion for those people deceived by the powerful.”

Little Boy Asks Trump For A Hug

President Donald Trump visited hurricane ravaged North and South Carolina Wednesday to meet with families affected by the storm. The Carolinas are experiencing massive flooding and property damage after Hurricane Florence tore through the coastline over the weekend. At least 37 people were killed in the hurricane, with 27 fatalities occurring in North Carolina.

Trump visited the state of North Carolina in his first stop on Wednesday. During part of the visit, the president stood at a volunteer station and handed out food to families who were in need after the storm damaged their homes.

During one moment, Trump also handed out a hug.

Trump was in the middle of visiting with members of the community and handing out food when a boy standing next to him asked him a question. The boy, named Tucker, turned to Trump and asked “Can I have a hug?” Trump stretched out his arms and gave Tucker a hug, to the applause and delight of the other volunteer workers.

An elderly worker standing behind them said, “I think I’m gonna cry,” after watching the president embrace the boy.

Hezbollah chief warns Israel to stop Syria airstrikes

Nasrallah vows his group will remain in country, denies Jewish state’s attacks are aimed at curbing weapons transfers

Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of the Lebanese terror group Hezbollah, said Wednesday that Israel must stop its “intolerable” attacks in Syria. His comments came after an Israeli airstrike on a Syrian base in Latakia, during which a Russian spy plane was accidentally shot down by soldiers loyal to President Bashar Assad.

Israel has been increasing its strikes inside Syria, protesting Iran and Hezbollah’s growing influence there.

But Nasrallah denied that the target of the Israeli strikes was weapons shipments bound for his group, and accused Israel of using Iran and Hezbollah as an “excuse” while really aiming to degrade Syria’s military capabilities.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo says North Korea denuclearisation to be completed by early 2021

The top US diplomat said he had invited his North Korean counterpart to meet next week in New York City

North Korea has committed to dismantling its nuclear weapons programme by the time US President Donald Trump’s term ends in January 2021, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said on Wednesday.

Building on what Trump called “tremendous progress”, Pompeo said he has invited his North Korean counterpart, Ri Yong-ho, to meet next week in New York, “where we are both already scheduled to be in attendance at the United Nations General Assembly meeting”.

Pompeo is also scheduled to lead a UN ministerial meeting on North Korea on September 27. He said in a congratulatory statement on the “successful outcome” of a third inter-Korean summit concluded in Pyongyang overnight that “the United State is prepared to engage immediately in negotiations to transform US-DPRK relations”.

“We have invited North Korean representatives to meet our special representative for North Korea, Stephen Biegun, in Vienna, Austria, at the earliest opportunity,” Pompeo said in a written statement.

White Existence Is a Crime, Says South African BFL Party Spokesperson

Remember folks: white people are not being targeted in South Africa and President Trump and others who suggest otherwise are conspiracy theorists!

The BLF spokesperson has posted views reflecting his party's belief that all white people in South Africa are criminals by virtue of their existence.

Black First, Land First spokesperson Lindsay Maasdorp has told the author of this article and others about the controversial party that my "existence is a crime."

He also repeated his party's slogan, "land or death."

Maasdorp’s assertion that, as a white person, “my existence is a crime,” provides some insight into the party’s apparent belief that, due to the theft of land by white people during colonisation and apartheid, all white South Africans are therefore criminals, regardless of when they were born and what their political views, history or affiliations may be.

At the recent land hearings held in parliament, Mngxitama called for section 25 of the Constitution to be scrapped entirely to ensure that all land owned by white people is returned to their black counterparts.

The BLF leader said this section should be replaced with a declaration that all land owned by white people in South Africa was stolen property.

Mngxitama has repeatedly made the assertion that absolutely all land occupied by white South Africans should be expropriated.

This makes the party the most extreme in South Africa when it comes to the land issue and in its attitude to white people in general.

They have been accused of hate speech by the South African Human Rights Commision, who have recommended that the party be prevented from contesting the 2019 elections on the grounds that they have made statements violating the Electoral Act.

Maasdorp has come under fire in the past for his posting on both Facebook and Twitter that “I have aspirations to kill white people, and this must be achieved!”

As Turkish state media outlet TRT World assured us recently, it's not that white farmers are being "targeted" in South Africa, but instead "farm attacks are just part of a greater violent crime problem" and "there's no reliable data to suggest that white farmers are targeted more than anyone else."

No doubt Maasdorp's "aspirations to kill white people" are just general aspirations to kill people generally and white South Africans are not being targeted!

Ford's Schoolmate Claims 'Many Of Us Heard' About Kavanaugh Incident At School - Ford Said She Told No One Until 2012

Women deserve to be believed – no matter how ridiculous or obviously made up their stories are.

Case in point: Cristina King Miranda, an alleged schoolmate of Christine Blasey Ford, who said Tuesday on Facebook that she "unearthed memories" about how "many of us" heard about the alleged Kavanaugh incident "in school."

There's just one problem: Ford already said she told no one about the alleged incident until 2012 (when Kavanaugh was coincidentally being floated as Mitt Romney's top pick for Supreme Court if he were to win the election).

Ford also doesn't even know when the alleged incident happened or where it happened.
