just a thought. are you sure that a it does not matter that there were surely much less advanced methods of digitalizing then (no sauce, use logic) - therefore the compression tricks or other obsolete and non-satisfying/source degrading techniques couldve altered the photo as we only can see now, while analyzing it with far advanced tools? inb4 u say plausible deniality, i do understand your suggestions, just its not THAT straightforwardly obvious if u accept what i ask above.
