‘Boo Hoo Hoo’: Democrat Eric Swalwell Mocks Threats Against Sen. Collins’ Staff

Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) mocked Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) late Wednesday night about threats she and her staff received over the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh.

“Boo hoo hoo. You’re a senator who police will protect. A sexual assault victim can’t sleep in her home tonight because of threats,” Swalwell tweeted, referring to reports Kavanaugh accuser Christine Blasey Ford has received death threats. “She’s on her own while you and your @SenateGOP colleagues try to rush through a hearing.”

In his now-deleted tweet, Swalwell — who is considering a presidential run in 2020 — responded to a Hill article detailing the threatening voicemails and phone calls Collins’ office received:

“My office has received some pretty ugly voicemails, threats, terrible things said to my staff,” Collins said in an interview with WVOM on Wednesday.

“We’ve had some very abusive callers. … We’ve had some very vulgar calls and sort of harassing the staff,” Steve Abbot, Collins’s chief of staff, told a Maine TV station at the time.

“Have you seen the emails … where he talked about Roe v. Wade not being settled law. He [bleeped] lied to you. How [bleeped] naive do you have to be?” the caller in the voicemail said.

Just last week, in a widely reported story, on top of other threats and acts of intimidation, Collins’ office received a rape threat:

“The [left’s] frustration has boiled over at points,” the Times understates. “Annie Clark, a spokeswoman for Ms. Collins, provided The New York Times with copies of a letter and multiple voice mail messages addressed to the senator using vulgar language and outright threats.”

One example of a threat is a “caller [who] told a 25-year-old female staff member at one of Ms. Collins’s Maine offices that he hoped she would be raped and impregnated.”

Both Thursday’s Hill report and last week’s report in the far-left New York Times document threats only coming from those opposed to Kavanaugh’s nomination.

Under pressure, Swalwell later tweeted out an apology. “Sexual assault victims deserve respect. And senators shouldn’t be threatened by the public,” he said. “I said something stupid and minimized ugly behavior. That tweet is deleted and I’m sorry for that.”

This minimizing of threats against Republicans comes less than two weeks after a Republican congressional candidate — running for Swalwell’s seat — was attacked with a knife by man making “disparaging” and “profanity-laced” remarks about President Donald Trump and the Republican Party. During that same week, a shooting threat was made against Trump supporters gathering Washington, DC.

Breitbart News has documented over 560 separate acts of violence, vandalism, intimidation, and harassment committed by leftists against Republicans.

Nevertheless, elected Democrats like Swalwell and his allies in the establishment media continue to both ignore and stoke this ongoing epidemic of political violence.

Fresno Bee: California Pays Millions to Keep Illegal Alien Sex Offenders from Deportation

The Fresno Bee‘s Mackenzie Mays has published an extraordinary investigation that reveals the State of California is keeping dozens of illegal alien sex offenders in a mental health institution rather than deporting them — often against their wishes.

Mays writes:

The undocumented men at Coalinga State Hospital are in a unique predicament that seems to be nobody’s jurisdiction. They aren’t prisoners, they are “civil detainees.” They entered the country illegally, committed crimes and served their prison sentences. But a state-mandated mental evaluation of sex offenders – a policy that went into effect in 1996 – put them in Coalinga instead of back into society.

The Department of State Hospitals says that it does not track patients’ immigration status, and that only a judge can decide if patients are ready to be released; ICE says the decision is up to the state.

While federal immigration authorities claim to put undocumented felons like these men at the top of the list for deportation, their predicament poses tough questions regarding a group for whom advocates are scarce. What if they re-enter the U.S. and reoffend? Is the U.S. at fault if they reoffend in another country once deported? Is the high financial cost of keeping them at Coalinga State Hospital worth the public’s peace of mind?

“The state government takes the position that if he’s deported, we cannot ensure that he’s not committing sex offenses in his home country,” said Rudy Kraft, Gutierrez’s attorney. “In a sensible system, we would work out a supervision program with the home country and let them decide how to keep an eye on him. But there’s no consideration of that.”

Effectively, they are incarcerated for life in the U.S.: “There is no way out other than death,” one attorney notes.

US Sanctions Chinese Entity Over Purchase of Russian Fighters, S-400s - Treasury

The Trump administration says it has yet to make a decision on whether to sanction other potential buyers of the Russian air defense system.

The US Treasury has slapped China's Equipment Development Department with sanctions, accusing it of violating US sanctions against Moscow by buying ten Russian Sukhoi Su-25 close air support jets and Russia's S-400 surface-to-air missile system.

A senior administration official said the measures were aimed at "imposing costs on Russia in response to its malign activities."

European Union elites decided to punish French presidential candidate Marine Le Pen after she tweeted three images of brutal ISIS violence.

This week the EU ordered Le Pen to undergo psychiatric evaluation for posting the images.

The elites say Le Pen is inciting terrorism by posting images of ISIS terrorism.

Marine Le Pen, the leader of the French far right has been left shocked and furious after a court ordered her to be examined by a psychiatrist to determine if she “is capable of understanding remarks and answering questions”.

Le Pen, who is head of the former National Front party – now National Rally (Rassemblement National) revealed on Twitter her shock and anger at being ordered to undertake a psychiatric assessment.

The unusual summoning is in relation to Le Pen having tweeted out gruesome propaganda images from terror group Isis that showed the bodies of people having been executed by the so-called Islamic State.

In March Le Pen was charged with circulating “violent messages that incite terrorism or pornography or seriously harm human dignity” and that can be viewed by a minor.

And as part of their investigation it appears magistrates in Nanterre near Paris have ordered Le Pen to visit a psychiatrist for an expert assessment.

Trump Gives US Treasury Powers to Impose Anti-Russia Sanctions – White House

In early August, the United States announced a new round of sanctions against Russia over its alleged involvement in the poisoning of former Russian spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia in UK's Salisbury in March.

US President Donald Trump has given the Department of Treasury the authority, under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA), to impose sanctions on Russia, the White House said in a press release.

I have authorized the Secretary of the Treasury, in consultation with the Secretary of State, to take such actions, including promulgating rules and regulations, and to employ all powers granted to the President by IEEPA and certain sections of CAATSA [Countering America's Adversaries Through Sanctions Act] and UFSA [Ukraine Freedom Support Act] as may be necessary to carry out the purposes of the Executive Order," the release said.

The Treasury Department declared that these sanctions may result in freezing all property and interest in property of sanctioned individuals, prohibitions on financial transactions transfers of credit or payments between the institutions, denial of visas and travel to the United States.

The extended section of the IEEPA could be applied to making donations for the benefit of a sanctioned individual whose property in the United States is blocked.

In August, the US administration announced new sanctions against Russia, consisting of two packages, due to its alleged use of chemical weapons against Russian former intelligence officer Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia in the UK city of Salisbury in March.

The first wave of restrictions took effect on August 22.

Russia has repeatedly denied involvement in the Skripal case, stressing that London has neither provided evidence nor cooperated with Moscow in investigating the incident.

Hackers Set Up 'Parasitic' Crypto Mining Operations Using Stolen NSA Tools

As it turns out, the case of a mysterious group of hackers installing illicit software inside the servers of Transneft, Russia's largest oil-pipeline company, wasn't an isolated incident. According to Bloomberg, detected cases of illegal crypto mining have surged 459% in 2018 compared with last year.

Citing a report by the Cyber Threat Alliance, the spike is tied to the 2017 leak of Eternal Blue, the NSA hacking exploit that utilizes a flaw in Microsoft operating systems to allow hackers unprecedented access to otherwise secure cyber-infrastructure. The exploit first made headlines last summer, when it was publicly leaked by the Shadow Brokers, a mysterious group of hackers who allegedly have ties to Russia or North Korea (who can keep track?).

The Shadow Brokers famously offered a subscription service to hacking groups allowing them preferential access to a trove of NSA hacking tools that the group allegedly stole from the US government. After the Eternal Blue exploit was linked to both the WannaCry and NotPetya global hacking attacks, the group's public profile diminished significantly, but continued to release tools allegedly stolen in that breach.

Though it is unclear who was behind the surge in illicit crypto mining, as of July of this year, 85% of all illicit cryptocurrency mining has targeted Monero, while bitcoin made up a paltry 8%.

Hackers can "sit back and watch the money roll in," said Neil Jenkins, chief analytic officer of Cyber Threat Alliance, a group formed in 2014 by a consortium of cyber-security firms to share intelligence about cyber-threats. While the hacks are occurring across the globe, a significant portion are in the U.S., he added.

Microsoft said it has released a software update that will protect against Eternal Blue. Still, companies regard this mining as a threat and a cybersecurity risk as it allows hackers to feed off their resources like a parasite to enrich themselves.

"The threat of illicit cryptocurrency mining represents an increasingly common cybersecurity risk for enterprises and individuals," according to the report. And the "rapid growth shows no signs of slowing down."

Then again, seeing as these tools have all been linked to the NSA, who is to say these hacks aren't part of a wider government operation overseen by US intelligence, or some other shadowy state-backed actor?

‘Angry’ Swedish PM Insists EU Must ‘Force’ Third World Migrants on Every Member State

Ahead of the informal summit in Salzburg, Swedish leader Stefan Löfven angrily insisted he will argue for mandatory asylum seeker quotas, reportedly showing “anger” at current EU Presidency chair Austria’s declaring the policy dead.

“I will continue to pursue the issue of compelling countries to accept a quota of refugees coming to Europe because all countries have a responsibility to receive asylum seekers,” Sweden’s prime minister told Aftonbladet.

Responding to the suggestion that this would be pointless, as the newspaper pointed out resistance to mandatory migrant quotas has been “growing rather than subsiding” — not only in Hungary but now across other countries in Europe — Löfven insisted that the arguments for forcing third world migrants on unwilling nations were as strong as ever.

“If we fail to implement this we will have another crisis, because the whole Schengen area is at risk unless there is cooperation [between member states] on this issue,” he said.

Asked whether he agreed that attitudes in Europe were hardening towards illegal migration, to the point that people want to “prevent refugees from reaching the continent at all”, the Swedish premier told Aftonbladet that “makes it all the more important” that migrants are shared across the bloc.

“The more countries are receiving refugees, the less of a burden it will be for each country,” he said, giving an answer which ignored the argument of Visegrád nations refusing to take a share of asylum seekers, that Europe’s illegal immigration problem is made worse, rather than better, by sharing migrants around while failing to enact proper border control.

Moving on to talk about Austria, which has taken over the rotating EU presidency, Löfven grew visibly “angry”, according to the Swedish daily, when he spoke of Chancellor Sebastian Kurz having declared that working on a common asylum policy over the six months would be a “waste of time” because it faces so much opposition.

“The presidency represents one country that is part of the EU and, since many countries think it is important that we have a common asylum policy it is his duty to drive this forward,” argued the Social Democrat leader.

At Sweden’s election earlier this month, the nation’s first since its left-wing government in 2015 welcomed 163,000 migrants — the most per capita of any EU country — Löfven’s party recorded its worst result in 100 years, while the anti-mass migration Sweden Democrats gained its highest ever share of the vote.

With the Scandinavian country seeing spiralling rates of gang violence, fatal shootings, and grenade attacks after decades of importing refugees from the world’s poorest and most violent nations, issues relating to crime and immigration dominated Swedes’ concerns during the election campaign.

Despite this, Löfven used his final pre-election pitch to voters to denounce the Sweden Democrats as peddling “hatred and extremism” in the party’s desire to end mass third world migration to Sweden.

English storms will soon have Muslim names

Storms are being named to raise public awareness of weather events. In England, these weather events will now also bear Islamic names.

The English Meteorologic Office published its list of storm names for the season and at least two will have Muslim names.

The Office released their new list of names for the 2018 and 2019 storm season: At the top of the list is “Ali” and number eight will be named “Idris”. According to the Quran, Ali is Muhammad’s cousin and son in law, one of the famous Calif ‘s of Islam.

In September 2015, the Meteorologic Office together with the Irish Meteorologic Service invited the public to propose names for wind storms.

The most popular suggestions were compiled into a list along with other names suggested by Met Eireann, Ireland’s Meteorologic Office.

The “Name Our Storms campaign” received 10 000 suggestions and includes some of the most popular names.

The criteria the Met Office use for naming storms is based on the National Severe Weather Warnings service. It depends on how severe the weather will be and how likely it is that the storm will cause damage.

A storm will be named only when it has the potential to cause either an amber “be prepared” warning or red “take action” warning.

Not only storms are considered, but specifically rain too if heavy showers could lead to flooding as advised by the Environment Agency.

According to the US National Hurricane Centre convention on naming storms, names which begin with Q, U, X, Y and Z, due to the low number of names that start with these letters, are not included.
