Lawyers for Kavanaugh accuser to host Democratic fundraiser for Sen. Baldwin

"In a strident display of Washington politics, the lawyers for the woman accusing Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault when they were high schoolers are hosting a fundraiser for embattled Democratic Wisconsin Sen. Tammy Baldwin, according to an email to donors.

The event featuring lawyers Debra Katz and Lisa Banks, who are representing Christine Blasey Ford, is scheduled for Monday Oct. 1 somewhere near Dupont Circle, which is where the lawyers have their office.

“Your support for Tammy's campaign has been wonderful and we really appreciate the help. We are fast approaching the final weeks and we could use your help one more time,” said the email provided to Secrets. "

Coincidence: Media follow Democrats' lead and want Brett Kavanaugh to withdraw

"Ford is suddenly nowhere to be found, with Grassley saying he hasn’t heard from her, and her lawyer now says Ford won’t testify unless the FBI first investigates her three-decades-old rumor — which, by the way, Ford has few very important details about, like details on where and when it happened.

So evasive is Ford that the only photo of her that cable news can conjure up is an unfocused image of her wearing sunglasses. There have been more clear sightings of the chupacabra.

She's in her early 50s and has no Facebook, Instagram, or even LinkedIn? But the media are unfazed.

Both the New York Times and the Washington Post said in their initial stories on Ford’s identity that she had — ah-ha! — taken a polygraph test that determined her to be “truthful.”

Real polygraph experts will tell you the accuracy of such “tests” rate just above mood rings. It’s no puzzle why the websites offering polygraph exams for money all look like they were put together by personal injury lawyers. It’s a scam, like Scientology "auditing," palm reading, or another Cher "farewell" tour.

The New York Times' editorial board followed up, declaring that “the only acceptable approach” to Ford’s claim was for Republicans to do nothing less than delay a vote on Kavanaugh for “however long it takes.” Or until after the midterms if Democrats end up taking the Senate. Your choice, Republicans!"

Has the State Department finally given up on its Palestinian fantasies?

"After President Trump’s futile attempts to forge a deal between Israel and the Palestinian Authority, many in the Trump administration now appear to recognize that the PA is not really interested in peace at all. Although the diplomatic corps has been reluctant to walk away from its longstanding investment in the PA, the annual assessment of world terrorism released today by the State Department suggests that it, too, is finally coming around."
