Why would something like that be hidden?
Yes, this universe is a chemical universe filled with complex organic molecules that can only come together to form things like RNA on a planet surface under extreme conditions (like volcanic activity or asteroid impacts). If planets with water are abundant life will be abundant.
Higher life forms require a lot more than this, though and a 1:trillion mistake is needed to move from simple to complex life. There is no reason to believe it would be an inevitable outcome moving from simple to complex life.
We are very lucky here on this planet in this system in this neighborhood of our galaxy with exactly the right conditions and chance happenings to bring us 3 1/2 to 4 billion years after the birth of our planetary solar system to be standing around debating these things.
The chance of their being intelligent beings not of the origin of this place coming into contact with us at this exact time is so close to zero that it is ridiculous even speculating about it.
If there are "others" they are of our making, from here, not from some mythological superior intelligent race from out there somewhere.
