Actually it's electrogravitic. Creates it's own gravitational field apart from the Earth's. Within that field it maintains 1G positive regardless of acceleration. So the field has inertial dampening effects allowing wicked maneuvers that would kill a pilot in a normal aircraft. Super luminal speeds are also possible both inside the atmosphere and even greater in the vacuum of space.
