The Democrats' strategy with this Ford/Kavanaugh circus is to delay Kavanaugh's confirmation beyond the 1 October start date of the next Supreme Court session. If he's not confirmed by the end of September, he won't be seated and thus can't participate.. The Dems are then counting on sweeping the elections in November to reverse everything, including Kavanaugh's confirmation.
