FBI LAS VEGAS CITIZENS ACADEMY ALUMNI ASSOCIATION

The goal of the FBILVCAAA is to promote a safer community through community service projects and a process of education business, labor, media, medical, minority, religious, government, senior citizens and other community leaders about law enforcement with particular emphasis on the mission, resources and limitations of the FBI.

In April 2009, FBI Special Agent in Charge (SAC) Steven Martinez of the Las Vegas Field Office approached a number of graduates of the FBI Las Vegas Citizens Academy about forming an FBI Las Vegas Citizens Academy Alumni Association. The first organizational meeting of the Provisional Board of Directors was held at Frias Holding Company on May 18, 2009 and was attended by Mark James (’09), President and CEO of Frias Holding Company; Jeffrey Silver, Partner, Dickinson Wright; Tim Wong, President and CEO of Arcata Associates; and Holly James, Community Outreach Specialist, FBI.

The By-Laws and Articles of Incorporation were filed with the Secretary of State of Nevada on October 19, 2009 and included the following Board of Trustees: Mark James, Jeffrey Silver, Tim Wong, Christopher Bjornstad, Srinivas Vuthoori, Michael Saltman, and William E. Martin. Mark James was elected President and Christopher Bjornstad was elected Secretary/Treasurer. The first General Membership meeting of the organization was held at Aliante Resort Hotel on October 20, 2009.
