Iran attack Sat 22nd Sept.
It looks like Iran blamed an unknown foriegn country and their 'US masters' for the attack on the military parade. Then, the Islamic state claimed responsibility, through their Amaq news agency; but there's no sauce (I'm not downloading 'telegram' just for I.S updates).
The Times of Israel, seemed more 'informed' than Reuters.
"State television immediately described the assailants as “takfiri gunmen,” a term previously used to describe the Islamic State group. Iran faced a bloody assault last year from the Islamic State group and Arab separatists in the region have attacked oil pipelines there in the past."
What's interesting is the 'elite guards' …"The Revolutionary Guard is a paramilitary force answerable only to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The Guard also has vast holdings in Iran’s economy."
It's the second attack by 'sunnis' against the Ayatollahs in 15 months, the last being June 7th with the attack on Khomeini's shrine.
Russia's response…
"MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed condolences to Iran’s president on Saturday after an attack on an Iranian military parade, saying Moscow was ready to boost joint efforts in the fight against terrorism, RIA news quoted the Kremlin as saying."
