It seems that most people assume that there are cures available, but it's not at all profitable to cure a disease, when it can be treated.

 

The same is to say about automobiles and fuel consumption. The reciprocating engine is a design that has been around for ages. There hasn't been much in the realm of new advances in engine tech. Ask yourself why is it that Ford recommends their cars use BP fuel? Does Ford own a significant amount of shares of BP? Wouldn't it be counter-intuitive for their vehicles to have exceptional fuel economy? I don't know where I was going with this.
