Grassley's mistake was yesterday, when he agreed to allow the negotiation to continue. He never should have allowed today's 2:30 deadline. When he did that, he handed Dems the victory over Kavanaugh.
What a crucial error.
Would not be surprised if Charles Grassley just received a private message from a shadowy intelligence contact:
"So they got to you, too?"

After allowing the 2:30 deadline, and receiving what appears to be a quasi-compliant response, it does appear Chuck is obligated to go along with the response.
He asked for it, and he got it.
Then, he will be obligated to wait until Thursday, at which point the Dems will simply pull the football away one last time, Game Over.
Hopefully we all trust POTUS. He's one of the greatest men to ever live.
That does not mean he controls all the Republicans, however. Republicans just fucked up big time and will fuck up repeatedly again until POTUS finishes revamping the party.
