The whole things is a stall and always has been. The delay must be strategic on the red side, because the chairman could've called the vote by now on one of the many delays.

Exactly. The Judge's team must have an ironclad alibi and are baiting the trap. Now that she has better lawyers, they're probably just trying to cash it out with a harvest strategy and milk the delay as long as possible.

 

It would be letting your client run across a machine gun field with a broken leg. It won't end well…hmm….best not go.

..and what atty wouldn't jump at the chance to make points with a sitting justice. Kinda the ultimate appeal insurance that you hope to never need. Yep, it's a great movie…mainly bc I know the ending.
