Curious as to the possibility of tax changes, though. Harvested a bunch of losses after 2008 and used them against earnings for a few years. Wonder if closing that loophole isn't a good idea in the long run.

 

Plus, the gains have surpassed inflation since 2008, so staying long worked overall.

 

Keep enough in shorts right now that I argue I'm the family hedge fund. We'll see.

Watching that carefully and figuring out that Clinton had set the housing crisis up with his everyone-can-buy-a-home loans was my real eye opener into the markets being blatantly manipulated. Arguing "too big to fail" was icing on that cake. So obvious.
