So we're to believe that a wrecked plane was resurrected after some 20 years and is now flying the friendly skies?

Correct. The divers in question with the JFK crash were on a recovery mission, not a hit job.
That's not at all the same as resurrecting a crashed plane from under the sea and putting it back in to the air.
