Michael Avenatti Locks Account After Admitting Kavanaugh Accuser Might Not Come Forward

Attorney Michael Avenatti said his client might now not come forward against Brett Kavanaugh, and then locked his Twitter public profile from view.

After two days of ginning up publicity with the news he has a “100 percent credible” accuser against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, adding that she has “multiple witnesses to corroborate her story” and that she is “willing to take a polygraph,” Avenatti appeared to walk back that assurance in a Tuesday morning tweet.

“Let me be clear: We will disclose the client’s name and accusations only when SHE is ready and we have adequate security measures in place. And not a moment before that,” Avenatti tweeted. “It is her choice and hers alone as to when to surface bc it is her life. We expect it within the next 36 hrs.”

A few minutes after this apparent walk back, where he appears to be blaming the woman if he does not deliver what he promised, Avenatti, the attorney for porn star Stormy Daniels made famous by CNN, locked public access to his Twitter account.

Albright: EU Confused About What US is Saying & Doing Under 'Dangerous' Trump

The Clinton Administration-era secretary of state, who presided over the bombing of Yugoslavia and defended the devastating US sanctions against Iraq, which led to the deaths of some 500,000 Iraqi children, has renewed her attack against the US president and other conservative leaders around the world.

In an interview with Spain's La Razon newspaper, Madeleine Albright, who recently accused Trump of bolstering "fascism and the tendencies that lead to fascism" worldwide, admitted that she didn't believe the president himself was a fascist.

"I want to make it clear that I'm not calling Trump a fascist, but I do believe he is the most undemocratic president in modern US history," Albright said, speaking to the Spanish-language daily. "He believes he can be above the law, he doesn't respect institutions, and he insults the media by calling them the 'enemy of the people', " the former secretary complained.

Turning to the 2020 elections, Albright said that "it would be very bad if Trump were reelected. I have been to Europe many times recently, and leaders here are very confused about what the United States is saying and doing, and it seems that six more years of Trump would be very dangerous," she said. According to Albright, while she continues to believe that the United States is "the indispensable nation," that doesn’t' mean that the US can "go it alone" in world affairs.

Albright stressed that Trump's opponents were now "working very hard" ahead of the upcoming midterm election to elect a Congress which could serve a counterweight to Trump.

Attack on Putin and Orban

Turning to other world leaders, Albright called Russian President Vladimir Putin a threat to Europe, and accused him of seeking to "undermine democracy in Central and Eastern Europe and return[ing] those areas to the Russian sphere of influence." She charged Putin with trying to "separate" Europe from the US, and claimed that Moscow "wants to undermine American democracy," reiterating a baseless claim she has repeated many times before.

Emphasizing that she was "a great defender of NATO," Albright suggested that the alliance's "most important problem now" was "the behavior of Turkey, one of its key members, because it is buying weapons from Russia." Albright also defended NATO's expansionism, saying it's "not about American expansionism, but about the desire of countries to be part of the alliance."

Soros Takes Hungary to Court over Anti-Mass Migration Laws for Breach of ‘Human Rights’

The progressive Open Society Foundations, run by Hungarian-American billionaire George Soros, announced Monday it was taking the Hungarian government to court over its laws that seek to stop illegal mass migration on grounds that they deny civil society groups their ‘human rights’.

The OSF called on the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, France, to “defend Hungarian democracy” in a statement published Monday.

The pro-open borders civil society group alleges that “Hungary’s ‘Stop Soros’ legislation violates its rights to freedom of expression, association, and assembly that are guaranteed by Articles 10 and 11 of the European Convention on Human Rights” and demands the laws are repealed.

The Stop Soros legislation, which came into effect on July 1st, makes it illegal to assist illegal migration, with penalties including a potential prison sentence. The laws also introduced a 25 percent tax on non-governmental organisations that support illegal migration, directly affecting the work of the OSF and its refugee rights group the Hungarian Helsinki Committee.

In response, a government spokesman told Reuters: “The government stands by the Stop Soros package of laws…. as the legislation serves the will of the Hungarian people, and the security of Hungary and Europe.”

“The Soros organisation attacks the Stop Soros package with all possible means as the legislation stands in the way of illegal immigration. The aim of George Soros and organisations supported by him is to flood Europe with migrants,” he added.

The lawsuit is the latest in a series of attacks against the conservative Fidesz-led government, which since the height of the European migrant crisis has worked to reduce illegal mass migration, protect the continent’s external borders, and assert its rights to put the needs of Hungarians first, above the demands of the European Union to accept third world migrants.

In September, the European Parliament passed a motion with a majority to begin Article 7 proceedings against Hungary, which could result in sanctions and voting rights being removed from the traditionalist, Christian country.

It is the first time that Article 7 was invoked by the Parliament, which was exposed in 2016 of having 226 Members of European Parliament regarded as “reliable allies” of Soros’s OSF.

The Israeli government is paying for anti-BDS journalism

The Israeli ministry tasked with fighting the BDS Movement is spending millions of shekels to place propaganda that looks like news in Israel’s most prominent media outlets.

The Israeli government paid the Yedioth Group, publisher of Israel’s best-selling daily newspaper, hundreds of thousands of shekels to publish articles and interviews meant to influence readers to support a campaign Israel is waging against its critics. The Strategic Affairs Ministry, headed by Minister Gilad Erdan, purchased positive coverage and the distribution of that content on the Internet.

According to information provided to “The Seventh Eye” and “Hatzlacha,” as part of a freedom of information request, the Yedioth Ahronoth Group received NIS 350,000 ($100,000) to publish journalistic articles, which were then distributed by member organizations of the “Pro-Israel Network” in Israel and around the world. The articles, according to the information furnished, were meant to motivate or enlist Israelis into the struggle.

The paid-for articles were published starting in June 2017 in the news section of Yedioth Ahronoth‘s weekend magazine, and on its website, Ynet. Like other campaigns that included purchasing articles from the newspaper, this one also included promotions in the widely-distributed weekend edition.

Alongside the paid-for articles, Ynet also published promotional videos produced by the Ministry of Strategic Affairs, as well as three interviews with a ranking official at the ministry, Tzahi Gabrieli. Two of those paid-for interviews were conducted by Ynet’s senior political correspondent, Attila Somfalvi, who asked soft-ball questions that allowed him to present his talking points.

Swedish Populist Politician’s Home Targeted In Arson Attack

A Stockholm municipal politician and member of the Sweden Democrats was targetted in a deliberate arson attack on her home in the latest assault on the populist party and its members.

The unnamed municipal politician’s home was targeted in the early morning of Sunday while she and her partner were up late drinking wine. The woman said that both she and her partner smelled burning and upon examination saw the corner of their wooden home was on fire, Aftonbladet reports.

After trying to unsuccessfully extinguish the fire on their own, the couple called emergency services who appeared on the scene at around 4 am.

While police believe that the arson attempt was intentional, Stockholm police press spokesman Fredrik Nylén said he could not comment on whether there was a continued threat against the couple.

“Someone had lit the fire on a blanket on a balcony that caused minor damage to the façade,” Nylén said.

The Sweden Democrat politician also commented on the attack saying: “I have children and family, and we live in a wooden house.”

“Had we already went to bed, then who the hell knows how it would have ended,” she added.

The case comes after the leader of the Sweden Democrats Jimmie Åkesson’s house was attacked by far-left extremists with eggs and fireworks who tried to break into his home. The attack was celebrated by Swedish journalist Christoffer Eriksson who called Mr Åkesson a “Nazi”.

Since April of this year, Swedish police have recorded 288 reports of crimes against democracy in Sweden including attacks on politicians and journalists. Chairman of the Swedish Democrats in Nynäshamn Emilia Orpana even claimed to have received death threats on election day.

Shortly before the election, the Sweden Democrats were again targetted by suspected left-wing extremists in Gothenburg who set fire to election material, destroying a tent kiosk.

Despite the attacks, the Sweden Democrats made their largest electoral gains in party history and had the unique problem of not having enough candidates to fill the number of seats they ended up winning.

Former Google bigwig launches AI “church” that positions technology as GOD

It might be tempting to crack jokes about today’s smartphone-obsessed youth seeming to worship their devices, but for one man, the concept of technology as a deity is reaching disturbing heights.

Former Google executive Anthony Levandowski has filed IRS paperwork to establish an official religion devoted to technology. Not only will this bizarre religion worship scientific progress, but it will also worship artificial intelligence and create a “godhead.”

According to his filing, this new non-profit religious organization, which will be known as “Way of the Future,” will “develop and promote the realization of a Godhead based on artificial intelligence and through understanding and worship of the Godhead [to] contribute to the betterment of society.”

The papers show Levandowski as the “dean,” or leader, of the new religion and the CEO of a nonprofit corporation that he has set up for the purposes of running it.

According to the Way of the Future’s website, the goal is creating a respectful and peaceful transition from humans being in charge of the planet to humans and machines governing it together. It will also fund research that will help to create the “divine AI.”

The site goes on to explain that as technology gets closer to being able to surpass the abilities of humans, the church wants to educate people and ease the transition to this new way of being, adding: “In ‘recent’ years, we have expanded our concept of rights to both sexes, minority groups and even animals, let’s make sure we find a way for ‘machines’ to get rights too.” Maybe he wants people to be able to marry their computers?

He said that humans currently run the planet because we’re smarter than the other animals and have the ability to apply rules and build tools. As machines grow smarter than us, however, he feels that they will take the reins from humans.

He believes that the “divine AI” will have another godlike quality, omniscience. After all, our reliance on technology and use of cell phones and data centers mean that everything there is to know about us can be accessed by those with the technological know-how.

Levandowski said that because AI is smarter than us, it will ultimately decide how it is going to evolve, but we can decide the way we want to act around it. For his part, he would like “the machine” to “think” of us humans as beloved elders that it needs to respect and take care of.

New religion will recruit members in California

The religion aims to establish working relationships with leaders in the AI industry and will use community outreach to recruit members. They will conduct educational programs and worships in the Bay Area in the next few months, according to the filings.

Levandowski told WIRED that he opted to make it a church instead of a think tank because he wanted everyone to participate, regardless of their technological skills. He also believed it would help avoid suspicions he’s doing this as a way of making money, as he will not receive any salary from the church. The IRS granted the church a tax-exempt status in August.

Skepticism about the concept aside, the religion’s “dean” is also questionable. Levandowski was an engineer behind Google’s self-driving car project, Waymo, before quitting to start his own autonomous trucking company. He sold the firm he created, Otto, to Uber last July for more than $680 million. He was later sued by Waymo over claims he downloaded files and trade secrets prior to his resignation and shared them with Uber. Uber later fired him for his refusal to cooperate in an internal investigation.

Salvini Migration Decree Bans Humanitarian Residency Permits, Strips Terrorists of Citizenship

Populist Italian Interior Minister Matteo Salvini has released a sweeping migration decree that will see residency permits granted for humanitarian reasons scrapped and increased funding for deportation centres.

The new migrant decree, which was met with unanimous approval in the Italian cabinet, combines aspects of migration policy along with other security provisions to tackle far-left occupier activists and the Italian mafia, Il Giornale reports.

One of the main points of the decree is the scrapping of residency permits for humanitarian reasons to asylum seekers who do not qualify under the normal asylum rules.

The decree justifies getting rid of the residency permits saying that they are used much more liberally in Italy than in other countries and is set to replace the permits with new ones that will cover migrants who have specific health problems, those fleeing natural disasters in their home countries, and civil merit permits that can be converted into work visas.

Since promising to deport up to 500,000 illegal migrants earlier this year during the Italian election campaign, Salvini has worked on improving the country’s deportation system.

The new decree will see €500,000 ($590,000) put into a repatriation fund this year for voluntary deportations, with the amount increasing to 1.5 million euros in 2019 and 2020.

The government will also increase the scope of forced repatriation centres and migrants can be held in these new centres for up to 180 days — double the previous 90-day limit.

On the security side of the decree, migrants with Italian citizenship who engage in terrorist activities could have their citizenship revoked and measures against the mafia could see organised criminal groups clamped down upon, as Salvini plans to increase staff at the National Agency for the administration and destination of assets seized and confiscated from organised crime (ANBSC).

The decree also targets far-left occupy activists as well as Roma squatters by granting police more powers to counter squatting including the ability to wiretap those thought to be involved in occupations.

Deputy Prime Minister Luigi di Maio, leader of the Five Star Movement and Salvini’s coalition partner, was somewhat cautious on the decree saying: “There are points (in the bill) that are not in the government programme and so will be discussed in parliament.”

The new policy comes after Salvini blocked migrant rescue ships from Italian ports and as a result, has greatly increased in popularity throughout the country with polling data showing his party, the League, consistently the most popular in Italy.

The Path to World War III?

Risky Israeli behavior threatens everyone

The minimal U.S. press coverage accorded to last Monday’s shooting down of a Russian intelligence plane off the coast of Syria is, of course, a reflection both of lack of interest and of Israel’s involvement in the incident. If one had read the New York Times or the Washington Post on the morning after the shoot-down or watched the morning network news it would have been easy to miss the story altogether. The corporate media’s desire to sustain established foreign policy narratives while also protecting Israel at all costs is as much a feature of American television news as are the once every five minutes commercials from big pharma urging the public to take medications for diseases that no one has ever heard of.

Israel is, of course, claiming innocence, that it was the Syrians who shot down the Russian aircraft while the Israeli jets were legitimately targeting a Syrian army facility “from which weapons-manufacturing systems were supposed to be transferred to Iran and Hezbollah.” Seeking to undo some of the damage caused, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu quickly telephoned Russian President Vladimir Putin to express his condolences. He also sent his air force chief to Russia on Thursday to provide a detailed report on what had occurred from the Israeli perspective.

But that story, however it will be spun, is inevitably only part of the tale. The narrative of what occurred is by now well established. The Russian aircraft was returning to base after a mission over the Mediterranean off the Syrian coast monitoring the activities of a French warship and at least one British RAF plane. As a large and relatively slow propeller driven aircraft on a routine intelligence gathering mission, the Ilyushin 20 had no reason to conceal its presence. It was apparently preparing to land at its airbase at Khmeimim in Syria when the incident took place. It may or may not have had its transponder on, which would signal to the Syrian air defenses that it was a “friendly.”

Syrian air defenses were on high alert because Israel had attacked targets near Damascus on the previous day. On that occasion a Boeing 747 on the ground that Israel claimed was transporting weapons was the target. One should note in passing that Israeli claims about what it is targeting in Syria are never independently verifiable.

The Israelis for their part were using four F-16 fighter bombers to stage a surprise night attack on several sites near Latakia, close to the airbase being used by the Russians. They came in from the Mediterranean Sea and clearly were using the Russian plane to mask their approach as the Ilyushin 20 would have presented a much larger radar profile for the air defenses. The radar systems on the F-16s would also have clearly seen the Russian plane.

The Israelis might have been expecting that the Syrians would not fire at all at the incoming planes knowing that one of them at least was being flown by their Russian allies. If that was the expectation, it proved wrong and it was indeed a Syrian S-200 ground to air missile directed by its guidance system to the larger target that brought down the plane and killed its fourteen crew members. The Israelis completed their bombing run and flew back home. There were also reports that the French frigate offshore fired several missiles during the exchange, but they have not been confirmed while the British plane was also reportedly circling out of range though within the general area.

There was also a back story. The Israelis and Russian military had established a hotline, similar to the one that is used with the U.S. command in Syria, precisely intended to avoid incidents like the Ilyushin shoot-down that might escalate into a more major conflict. Israel reportedly used the line but only one minute before the incident took place, leaving no time for the Russian plane to take evasive action.

The Russian Ministry of Defense was irate. It saw the exploitation of the intelligence plane by the Israelis as a deliberate high-risk initiative. It warned

“We consider these provocative actions by Israel as hostile. Fifteen Russian military service members have died because of the irresponsible actions of the Israeli military. This is absolutely contrary to the spirit of the Russian-Israeli partnership. We reserve the right for an adequate response.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin was more conciliatory, saying the incident was a “chain of tragic circumstances.” He contrasted it with the Turkish shoot-down of a Russian warplane in 2015, which was planned and deliberate, noting that Israel had not actually attacked the Ilyushin. Though the Putin comments clearly recognize that his country’s relationship with Israel is delicate to say the least, that does not mean that he will do nothing.

Rep. Meadows Calls For Rosenstein to Testify Under Oath to Congress This Week About NY Times Spying Report

According to multiple reports, DAG Rosenstein has given a verbal resignation to Chief of Staff John Kelly following an explosive NYT report he wanted to wear a wire and oust Trump from office.

Rosenstein is reportedly meeting with President Trump on Thursday to discuss his future at the Justice Department.

On Tuesday, Freedom Caucus Chairman Mark Meadows (R-NC), who previously filed articles of impeachment against Rosenstein, called for the Deputy Attorney General to appear before Congress under oath this week.

MEADOWS: You can’t have the number two official at the Department of Justice making comments about wiring the President and not address it. Rod Rosenstein must come before Congress this week, under oath, and tell the truth about his alleged statements.

Last Friday, The New York Times reported Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein last year spoke with DOJ and FBI officials about wearing a wire and secretly recording President Trump to be able to build a case that Trump is unfit to hold office.

The New York Times report on Rosenstein’s plot to oust Trump from office cited then-Acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe’s memos as a source.

Shortly after the New York Times released its report, Andrew McCabe made a statement through his lawyer Michael Bromwich–he did not deny The NY Times report.

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein also signed the June 2017 FISA renewal app–one month after he appointed Robert Mueller to special counsel to investigate Trump-Russia collusion.

The President issued a declassification order on the June 2017 Carter Page FISA docs, however he wavered after push back from the DOJ and foreign allies.

Sean Hannity and other prominent conservative voices warned President Trump against firing Rosenstein after the New York Times rolled out their report on his secret plans to wear a wire and oust Trump from office.

‘It’s a set up,’ said Hannity. The Deep State is trying to bait President Trump into firing DAG Rosenstein to create a Nixon-like ‘Saturday night massacre’ where the DAG, AG and special prosecutor Archibald Cox were fired during the Watergate investigation.
