My baby was brain damaged at the age of 7 months and is now full "retard" as you put it, physically and mentally. But to me, she is precious. I have learnt more about love and patience and kindness and every other virtue from caring for her for the past 24 years than I learned from caring for my 8 "normal" children. She is probably the greatest blessing I have ever received and is the most beautiful and delightful person in spite of needing 24 hr care.

So don't talk to me about the burden of caring for a "retard". I consider it a blessing.
