This analysis is not convincing. Educated people make grammatical errors. I noticed that Yale freshmen seem to write with the correct grammar that got them the SAT scores to get into Yale. By about junior year, that's out the window in the stuff they write for Yale Daily News.
And the writer of this article doesn't know that "senator" as a job description, rather than a title, is not capitalized. "Ted Cruz is a senator from Texas." "Senator Ted Cruz represents Texas."
