Tomi Lahren faces furious backlash after telling former first lady ‘sit down Michelle’

Ms Obama had spoken at Nevada get-out-the vote event

Tomi Lahren, the millennial conservative pundit liberals love to hate and and who loves being hated by them, is in a new controversy after telling former first lady Michelle Obama to “sit down”.

Speaking a day after Ms Obama addressed an enthusiastic crowd in Las Vegas and urged people to ensure they registered to vote in the midterm elections, the Fox News contributor took aim at Ms Obama’s reference to her husband having been “a great president”.

“Michelle Obama said we “had” a great president. By what measure,” tweeted 26-year-old Ms Lahren. “Not in economic growth. Not in border enforcement. Not in strength on the world stage. Sit down, Michelle.”

Garth Brooks takes Domestic Violence seriously – wish our Government acted as quickly

Country artist Garth Brooks revealed that “America's Got Talent” star Michael Ketterer will no longer perform at his concert next month, following his arrest for domestic violence last week.

During his Facebook Live show, “Inside Studio G,” Brooks said that “it was best” for the “AGT” fifth-place winner to withdraw from the show.

“Called him this weekend, we talked. We decided it was better that he not appear at Notre Dame and not perform there,” the country star told viewers in the Facebook Live session. “That family will figure it out and find it within themselves, and of course the good Lord, and figure it out. Michael Ketterer will not be at Notre Dame.”

Following Ketterer’s inspiring finale performances, Brooks, whom the aspiring singer had always admired, offered him a chance to play at his upcoming concert.

Marine veteran, 80, will get Medal of Honor for Vietnam valor

Marine veteran John Canley is set to receive the nation’s highest military honor.

Canley led Marines through the streets fighting in the Vietnamese city of Hue more than 50 years ago. The Battle of Hue took place during the Tet Offensive, Jan. 31-Feb. 6, 1968. Canley, now 80 and a retired sergeant major, carried several wounded Marines while under heavy enemy fire and assumed command to maintain the unit’s organization and morale in what’s known as the most chaotic battle of the Vietnam War.

Canley was wounded more than once during the fighting, but still continued pushing forward.

“So they hear a noise and they look back and there’s Canley. He’s walking down, upright, not running, walks over the little berm, picks up the first guy, throws him over his shoulder and walks back,” John Ligato, a Marine and FBI agent, told Newsweek about Canley’s heroics. “So there’s two independent eyewitnesses on this. … Canley says to them, individually, ‘Keep down, there’s a lot of incoming.’”

On Tuesday, President Trump announced that Canley will be awarded the Medal of Honor on Oct. 17 for his “conspicuous gallantry.”

Canley will be the sixth American to receive the honor from Trump and the third Vietnam War veteran, The Hill reported.

“It means a lot to me,” Canley told USA Today. “Mostly for my Marines because we’ve had to wait 50-plus years to get any kind of recognition.”
