As details trickle out regarding the Trump/Russia Clinton dossier one of the questions that has remained a mystery is why He who 'WE DON'T SAY HIS NAME' delivered the Clinton dossier to the FBI long after the FBI already had the dossier.
I believe we now might have the answer. Christopher Steele (among others) put together the Clinton Dossier and the first FISA warrant, that would be up for renewal in 3 months (January 2017), was issued to allow surveillance on Carter Page (TRUMP et al) in October 2016.
However, the same Christopher Steele outed himself as an FBI informant to Mother Jones as evidenced in their article dated October 30, 2016 and was subsequently fired by the FBI.
The FBI, who already were misrepresenting the Clinton opposition research product as an intelligence document to the FISA Court and had not verified the contents therein now had a new problem: the source of the Clinton opposition research had been fired for blowing his cover.
What to do?
Enter he who 'WE DO NOT SAY HIS NAME'.
He delivered the dossier to the FBI in December 2016.
JUST IN TIME TO GIVE THE FBI COVER WHEN THEY WENT TO RENEW THE SURVEILLANCE WARRANT IN JANUARY 2017. With the bipartisan 'CONCERN' cover story now in tact, the FBI could sell their need to renew the warrant without mentioning they had recently fired the source of the Clinton dossier, Christopher Steele.
