Ugh, my still-badly-blue-pilled mom posted this article to facebook with a comment about how she 'knew there was something wrong with Kavanaugh'. I only had to see the name David Brock to know that it was propaganda (Media Matters!) and I didn't need to read much farther.

It makes me furious when I see people mock someone for claiming virginity into their mid-late 20s. They completely discount the fact that some churches (the Catholic church in particular) teaches abstinence and that some people actually choose not to engage in sexual activity until later. I wasn't sexually active until my mid-20s and not because I was ugly (am married with kids now) but because I didn't need to fuss and worry of sexual activity while I was studying and working on getting my life on an even keel. Who wants to have to worry about a potential pregnancy or STD while trying to become gainfully employed? Who wants to end up with an STD when they're 20? I have a friend who contracted genital herpes in college and I feel really bad for her (it was kind of a drunk/date rape situation so I don't blame her for that). We used to expect people to abstain until they were ready to marry. Degrading people for taking a sensible, mature path toward long term sexual health and happiness in relationships is sad.
