The Finnish interior minister Kai Mykkänen is publicly proposing a ban on anonymous Internet posting on the EU level, at least for discussion forums like Facebook and Twitter. The proposal supposedly originated from an initiative founded by the cabinet ministers in Mykkänen's National Coalition party. Mykkänen is speaking for more people than just himself.

As might be guessed, the stated reason is fighting hate speech and harassment.
