There had to be some lost battles along the way. Glad Q mentioned this because everyone(a lot on this board) just assumed we never lost a battle. Nice reminder to never stop fighting. This actually makes me more motivated than I was yesterday to have this come out.

Rush and others may not be wrong that if he doesn't get confirmed voters may punish Republicans severely. He might not be the ultimate goal, but sure is a priority. Looks like the plan hinged on having reliable votes on the SC (among other things).

Give us more votes and we promise you will get what you want. Wall, repeal obamacare, SC justices. How many times have they been betrayed. Betrayal in the past has cost them seats in the past. May be different in the Trump era, but history shows they will be punished.
I can only imagine the circus when Gollum dies and is replaced. This is to just to change a sometimes reliable vote to a reliable vote. Imagine the fight over flipping an entire justice vote for all cases.
