Got up this morning and went for a rainy hike with my family. Came home to find this attached to my front door (note the junior high-style picture vandalism). Canvassers were still walking down the street, and my wife and I both yelled "Walk away!" Minutes later my wife received a call from a restricted number, which left this message: "If this is (wife's first name), don't ever disrespect canvassers ever again."

Called the county D HQ and lady who answered identified herself as the Executive Director. Told her I was interpreting this as a threat and my next call would be to the sheriff. Took her about 30 minutes to call me back and say she had confirmed what happened, took personal responsibility, and had taken steps to ensure we would not be contacted again.

Called the sheriff's non-emergency line and filed a suspicous person incident anyway in case the canvasser kids decide to vandalize or act a fool.

What do you think?

tldr: "Walk away!"
