The Constitutions has teeth all right: big gnashing chompers and flesh tearing fangs. But it’s only as good as the rigor with which it is interpreted and enforced.
Almost the entire 20th century saw SCOTUS adopting rules of construction that worked counter to the fundamental limiting intent of the Constitution. It started in the Progressive Era, continued under FDR, and became normative from the 60s.
The Constitution must now be enabled to invalidate and reverse more than a century of government overreach and bloat, which requires a SCOTUS with the will to see it through.
When POTUS speaks of returning America to the People, I believe this is what he means: nothing less than a reset to the founding principles of the Republic, with all branches of Government being subject once again to the rule of law.
