You've got it. This all came upon us unexpectedly. War is like that. And Americans, unless they are in the service, are not used to thinking in military terms. We never thought we'd be faced with something like this. Sadly, after 9/11, Bushie just said go about your lives, spend money, it's fine. Nope. There's value in learning to live for a time on a war footing. That's one valuable lesson I get from my Old Testament studies. Got to stay battle-ready. Life is like that.
