WaPo article in 1995. Prestiguous place. Blasey's father had some juice.

Presidents Eisenhower and Nixon swatted merrily on Burning Tree's fair and pleasant greens, a naked Clark Clifford crimped his hair before a mirror in the locker room, and a war-weary Edward R. Murrow kept right on playing after a runner brought him a message at the 10th tee that the Japanese had bombed Pearl Harbor.

Here's another blast from the past. Correct that Ralph Blasey Jr. was president of this club at some point? Can't remember if that was sauced or not.

BETHESDA, Md., May (UPI)—The Burning Tree Club, where President Ford plays golf, has admitted its first black member, Charles T. Duncan, dean of the Howard University law school. Burning Tree has come under increasing attack recently for its unofficial policy of banning women and for not having black members.

M. Everett Parkinson, president of the club, confirmed lest night that Mr. Duncan had joined the club. Mr. Duncan, 50. is a former District of Columbia corporation counsel.

Ford’s father, Ralph Blasey, was president of the all-male Burning Tree Golf Club in Bethesda, where Kavanaugh’s father, Ed — former president of the Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Association, a trade group — has also been an active member, according to a member of the club. Burning Tree declined to discuss its membership.
