Can you imagine all the shit they put him through, death threats, kidnapping threats, bodily harm, etc. They wanted to destroy him mentally and scare the shit out of him so hed back down. Like they did with other "good" candidates. iirc they did it to Ross Perot for example. Kavanaugh is a fuckin boss and has God on his side though.
