TNAnon here. Phil Bredesen has HUGE favorability among Ds and Rs. He was a very good governor. He’s a very moderate democrat. He was a businessman, ran healthcare company.

There are many, many Republicans who have indicated they’d vote for him.

Dems should be concerned if he wins. Bredesen will not vote party line.

Dems are already digging into Marsha Blackburn.

The president was in Johnson City to try to save the Senate seat being vacated by two-term Tennessee Republican Bob Corker. Trump trounced Hillary Clinton in the Volunteer State by 26 percentage points in 2016, but the Democratic nominee, former Gov. Phil Bredesen, could well pull off what would be a sizable upset against Republican Marsha Blackburn.

As much as Scott Brown was a Mass Republican, meaning he was very close to middle to grab a few dems votes, Bredesen is on the other side of that line.

He did great things for the state as governor and great things as Nashville mayor. 50 yr old + r publicans remember all that and many will vote for Bredesen.

I don’t know if they can. Bredesen was a very, very ethical, nice guy politician. Zero dirt. He’s been out of politics for awhile so 18-35 Rs will vote against him, but older demographics may.
