I think it's a question of market demand. How many people can afford to buy a population to eat it? How many people can a buyer eat? Seems like a very high supply which will drive costs down considerably.

Medfag here. The needle works as a channel in the vein, the containers that store the blood are vacuum sealed, so that when inserted, the vacuum draws the blood from the body. At no point is anything injected in you. For this to work, every needle ever manufactured would need to be coated in what ever it is people are being infected with. Rules out biologic, at best it would be nanomachine. Seems unlikely.
