PepsiCo boss Indra Nooyi is leaving the snacks-and-soda giant on a high note, with the company posting a stronger-than-expected quarterly profit on her last day on the job.

Nooyi — a trailblazer who is among the few women of color who have helmed Fortune 500 companies — has spent much of her past 12 years as chief executive delving into healthier food categories to offset declining demand for sugary drinks and salty snacks.

Nooyi will step down as Pepsi’s CEO on Wednesday, handing the reins to company president Ramon Laguarta. She will stay on as chairman until early 2019.

House Passes 'Family Savings Act': Savings Plan Bill for Unborn Children Goes to Senate

The Family Savings Act gives parents, grandparents or other relatives the opportunity to open a 529 savings plan for an unborn child to begin saving for their future education.

"It would allow parents to start an account while they are pregnant," Family Research Council Vice President of Government Affairs David Christensen told CBN News. "It's really a pro-life policy from the standpoint of the tax code. It recognizes the child as an unborn child."

Trump Admin Halts Visas to Unmarried Partners of Diplomats, Now LGBT Advocates Are Up in Arms

A new policy laid out by the Trump administration has made marriage a requirement for partners of foreign diplomats to be eligible for a visa.

Foreign Policy magazine reports the administration has already begun denying visas to the unmarried, same-sex partners of foreign diplomats and employees of the United Nations.

"The Department of State will not issue a G-4 visa for same-sex domestic partners," a State Department memo reads. "As of 1 October 2018, same-sex domestic partners … seeking to join newly arrived U.N. officials must provide proof of marriage to eligible for a G-4 visa or to seek a change in such status."

The policy gives couples until the end of the year to get married. If they fail to comply, they must leave the country within 30 days of the Dec. 31 deadline.

Unmarried heterosexual partners are also not eligible for US visas.

Man arrested for allegedly offering $200K to buy 8-year-old from mother at Florida Walmart

Police arrested Hellmuth Kolb, 81, Saturday on charges of battery and false imprisonment of a victim under age 13, according to Volusia County, Florida, Corrections online records.

Kolb allegedly approached Tracy Nigh and her 8-year-old daughter, who were sitting on a bench inside the Walmart. Nigh didn't think the man was a threat at first, she said, according to WKMG-TV, but then he began making offers.
