Anon, agreed that at Jonestown people did what others were doing. I read a book called the The Madness of Crowds, and their is an inherent piece of our human DNA that makes us follow the herd.
No matter how crazy it seems, people tend to want to be part of the group even if its wrong.
Nazi Germany, Cults, Jonestown….When evil people with this knowledge want control they dont need to control individuals, they need to control the crowd and the individual will follow or at least the majority.
