On the occasion of his visit this week to the Philippines, US President Barack Obama was presented with a special memento commemorating the work of his mother, Ann Dunham, with the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
Dr. Dunham worked as a consultant for ADB on two projects—the Agricultural Development Bank of Pakistan’s Gujranwalla Agricultural Development Program in 1987-1988 and a technical assistance for the Institutional Strengthening of the State Ministry for the Role of Women in Indonesia in 1994, financed by the Japan Special Fund.

According to published reports in Pakistan, Obama stayed at the home of a prominent politician Ahmad Mian Soomro in an upscale Karachi suburb. He also went on a traditional partridge hunting trip north of Karachi. Soomro’s son, Muhammad Mian Soomro, was a senior politician who served as acting prime minister before the appointment of President Asif Ali Zardari. He was also tied in with BCCI, which is probably the biggest, dirtiest (CIA) banking scandal of all time.

Taking all the coincidences even further, Obama’s mother, Ann Dunham, held a micro-finance job (aka CIA) in Pakistan. Lahore-based Urdu newspaper Daily Waqt reported that Dunham worked as a consultant for a Pakistan Agricultural Development Bank program that ran from 1987 to 1992.

The source said Obama became known to Soomro when the former had travelled to Pakistan in 80s in the company of Chandio. According to an earlier report in this newspaper, Chandio had taken Obama on traditional partridge hunting trips to Hyderabad, Larkana, Shikarpur and Jacobabad districts. The source said most friends of Obama would attend his oath-taking in January.
