We all love memes. Why? They're amusing. They show us truths we already know in a tight space.

 

But memes don't convince anybody.

 

Do they? How many people have been swayed by memes? Is there a danger to looking at leftist memes? Of course not, we all know they're wrong and deranged.

What I am wondering: what is the point of memes?

 

If everyone is addicted to making and reading memes, they suddenly can't read cogent essays, long narratives, they can't pay attention to speeches and can only have sound bites. Is there a danger to it, or is this nothing to worry about?

 

Asking for a friend who is wondering if the "meme wars" might not be the courageous battle the jpg files say they are
