Not much you can do, it's a personal issue between those two. It may take time for partner to see light, or they'll choose to keep their eyes closed and comfy with whatever they're comfy with. If he chooses to continue seeking info despite partner's wishes, he will find a way to do so. Could be as simple as partner being jealous of the attention not being on them.
