The Pope has permitted research into Vatican Archives. He says it can go wherever it may take itself in the search for truth. The reason is the McCarrick scandal, which involves pederasty and homosexuality in the church.

The statement did not address whether Francis himself knew any details of the scandal or when he might have known them.

This might prove interesting as researchers begin to dig… and fall through the various rabbitholes…and get lost…
