"droit" is right in French, both the direction and in the sense of legal rights, human rights, civil rights, etc. It's about unifying the rights given to citizens in different countries i.e. "harmonizing" national laws.

It's an old game, I think I recognize the position.
No, it's very game-like and looks like it's from a Marshall Gambit. It's not obvious to me whose move it is.
On the other hand white has a winning material advantage if he can consolidate.
As white I might play a4 to free the rook. As black, c5 to open some lines for the rooks and threaten c4 trapping and blocking the bishop.
The queen isn't trapped, it could get out via e2, but it is no better off elsewhere. White just has an extra piece, black's rooks have not enough to bite on and the one on f8 is too slow to get into the action.
Not all that interesting.
Yeah black may want to play Kh8 planning f5 to open up the f8 rook, but that's not very fast and puts the black king on the line with white's queen. If white gets his rook out, he'll be attacking.
the other position with 2 rooks and 3 pawns vs. lone queen.
That's white's king on c2 unfortunately, not his bishop. So no checkmate.
>>33921 Look at the Stockfish analysis. W plays a4, trades pawns, his rook gets to move, and he's just winning by material.
Or "Steny". What kind of name is Steny Hoyer?
Same position, different bread? It's gonna make the bread moldy, we need a fresh position. Julian?
Jerome tried to spend an hour talking about electrical stuff. Unfortunately he doesn't know anything about electrical stuff. Didn't go too well.
or bughouse.
In this position if black is to move Qxc1 wins.
If white is to move maybe Kd2 Rae8 Qh3 Qf1 Kc2 and we have the other position. That's probably what happened.

Heh Capablanca-Marshall I had seen it before. Probably Capablanca busted the Marshall Gambit the first time it was played, by Frank Marshall! Hail the glorious Cuban!
Also at this point the result of the game starts to become very clear, within a move or two.
It found something wrong with 3.a4? Because compared to the last line the eval went down from +2.77 to +1.43, a huge drop. And white takes the time to play Bd5 – which Capablanca (the actual player of white, one of the great chess geniuses) did also.
good.
But sometimes one can succeed in deadly serious circumstances by treating it as a game or seeing the gamelike aspects.
Yeah, connected with yesterday's rumor that Obama was in Fort Bragg … they may have caught a big kahuna.

"rabbit" is not a chess piece in any major language, according to this page. I checked because the white light-squared bishop in Julian's game position is a very important piece.
