Delaware's Senior U.S. Senator Tom Carper has admitted to slapping his late ex wife, but has vehemently denied the notion that he abused her or his stepchildren as purported in an article by Free Beacon.
The allegations date all the way back to 1982 during Carper's first campaign for Congress where a New York Post article claimed he abused his stepchildren and hit his ex wife "so hard he gave her a black eye."
