At least in one context, Venus is the closest star. Why was gold important to Egyptians… (I suspect IR reflectivity - but it's hard to know for sure).
There are likely other contexts where Q's statement is pointing at something else, entirely - but this connects more than a few dots as I see them. Particularly how this doubles back on the Owl, the eye of Horus, the Pope's personal guardian, the Owl of Athena, 'The enlightenment' - and subsequent focus on the figures of Egyptian and Greek influence by post-enlightenment institutions of education accrediting.
