Will it? Do you not have what you already need to find Truth within God's "black and white" morality? Sin or Grace? Light or Dark?
How long does ignorance last with the Almighty? How is it judged? (Can't be answered).
The past you seek is irrelevant. Christ, the living word, came and gave all the insight anyone would ever need to attain the closest relationship with God. It all cycles back to Free Will (volition).
You will either choose good or bad, light or dark, sin or grace. If you have trouble deciphering just what that is - I would start with figuring out what morality is, and if it can be subjective. If it can't be subjective, who's authority should it be at? What do the religions say about the morality of God? Who/what religion makes the most logical sense? The most heartfelt sense?
Free Will is also about YOUR life and YOUR journey - Personal. Individually one needs to find and seek God on his own will. NOT COLLECTIVELY (easier to attain collectively, but how much is Free Will impeded?). We are all one, but humanity is not all one. ONLY when we choose grace are we in communion with God and in communion with one another.
This knowledge exists already. It's been around for thousands of years. You don't need to seek enlightenment, when you can attain God's presence and love on your own, especially through prayer.
The cool thing about humanity is we get all sorts of second, third, and thousandths of chances to make amends with our Creator be it a sin of actions or inaction. Other beings do not for obvious reasons - they are immortal so they get to choose only once.
Humanity will all die. We were never meant to die (fallen nature). Because we die, our souls and physical body get ripped painfully a part. This is our punishment, which no human - king or beggar - escapes. Our eternal aspect is then going to light or dark contingent upon our own choices.
I'm skeptical that what's in the vault is actually going to help mankind in such a magnificent way. At the end of the day, one is judged on his/her own soul. I think most of us, including myself, cannot even begin to pluck the sliver from our brother's eye yet… we all have planks in our faces to deal with first. I don't think physical things will help that. Prayer, reflection, personal conviction, and conversion through one's free will ought to work, and no history or artifact is going to change or influence humanities' volition.

Is knowledge relative? Is wisdom subjective? What defines these words? Who's authority?
The world isn't what I perceive reality? What could honestly be so horrific? I don't mean that in a condescending way either - it's genuinely inquisitive. Just what could be, that the mind cannot conceive, is so bad? New smells? New Colors? Unimaginable things? Can we conceive those thoughts? Should it matter if we cannot given the capacity God allows us? Or is some magical script or rock going to allow that to magically happen? The only true horror in either realm or dimension is the absence of God, whether chosen or not.
Christ taught humanity how to pray. Christ is the living word of God. His only Son, and the greatest gift humanity could or ever will hope to receive. Free Will enabled us to murder Him. He sacrifices Himself, not only once, but every time the holy sacrifice of the Mass is offered in good Grace to God. It has been an unending sacrifice for our never-ending sins. O blood that gushed forth from the heart of Jesus, Have mercy on me, and on the whole world!
Prayers for one's own soul and that of others is what will heal humanity. God listens and God answers in His own time.
