This is propaganda. For decades, similar propaganda has been used against farmers in the US, particularly growers of orchard crops like walnuts, cherries and apples. I believe President Trump even warned against chinese propaganda against US farmers. China has planted enough cherries to wipe out the need for US growers to produce, etc. with the USDA and FDA complicit in the propaganda. As a walnut grower, the china statitics were cited many times as I was preparing for new acreage. What the media will not tell is that the air and water quality, along with growing practices are so bad in China, that the walnuts are coming off the trees at harvest already rancid and completey unfit for consumption. Same with many others. China’s tomato paste is another particulary poisonous well, and there are many examples of it being used in Europe and Africa, often being packaged and sold under false country of orgin labeling.
