If it was her gymnastics coach that left the finger bruises, I'd say FIND A NEW COACH.
Kids get bruises all the time, no disagreement there, however those are in odd places and I tend to think any person who enjoys handling and grabbing on a kid so hard they leave bruises shouldn't be around kids at all.

I did gymnastics. Never had bruises like that from coach holds. ever.
Once, I pissed my mom off so badly that she squeezed both of my arms and I had bruises for days.
