It would have to have some sort of connectivity for it to be remotely hacked….like GMC/Chevrolet had OnStar that could remotely unlock doors, etc. Most early 2000 cars did not have that, though.

 

That being said, if they went through the trouble of hacking OBD-II, I am sure they placed transmitters/receivers on target cars in that era.
