One possibly misguided association that comes to mind is that, when Columbus first visited 'the Americas', he came to those Caribbean islands where voodoo and certain forms of witchcraft later took root.
Even the witchcraft in Salem had an element of Caribbean voodoo in it from the blacks who had been sent up there.
We know, too, that Columbus made his voyage at the behest of a certain, ahem, religious/ethnic group that has strands of (Talmudic) luciferianism in its complex past.
Put all of that together, and perhaps we see some of the roots of spirit cooking in that melting pot of Caribbean/WestAfrican voodoo-witchcraft and the Talmudic luciferianism of Columbus's sponsors.
