TED MALLOCH: Trumpism vs. Globalism

When you take the 30,000-foot view from high up you can see the larger context and the significant stakes in the contest between Trump and the globalists.

Globalism was Clinton’s core belief and it remains that of the entire Democrat elite.

Open borders, diminished sovereignty, multilateralism, multiculturalism, and everything defined as ‘worldwide’ or global in scope.

World government is the ultimate, long-term end.

Iran’s parliament passes bill against funding terrorism

The Iranian parliament has approved a bill aimed at bringing Iran’s laws in line with international standards and allowing the country to join the UN convention against the funding of terrorism, or CFT.

A total of 143 lawmakers on October 7 voted in favor of the bill, 120 voted against, and five abstained, local media reported.

The legislation still has to be approved by a top clerical body, the Guardians Council, before it becomes law.

“Neither I nor the president can guarantee that all problems will go away if we join” the CFT convention, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said during the parliamentary debate.

North Korea’s Kim agrees to second Trump summit, Seoul says

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has agreed to a second summit with U.S. President Donald Trump, South Korea says.

The comments by South Korea’s presidential office on October 7 come after U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo arrived in Seoul following what he called “productive” talks on denuclearization in North Korea earlier in the day.

The South Korean statement reported Pompeo said that “he agreed with Chairman Kim to hold the second U.S.-North Korea summit at the earliest date possible.”

No specific date was set.

Trump tariffs raise $4.4 billion and counting

"So we're doing very well in our situation with China on trade. I have a great relationship with the president of China, President Xi. But it's got to be a two-way street. It — for 25 years and longer, it was not. And trillions and trillions of dollars was taken out of the United States for the benefit of China. We just can't have that. We have to make it fair."

You just know this pisses them all off

The sky isn't falling on Trump's America

Widely improper journo-activism against Brett Kavanaugh has reminded us again how far Beltway scribes lean to the Left. Many news reporters took up the Democrats’ banner at every stage, writing stories to follow whatever theme the party was messaging on any given day.

This reality of liberal media bias is nothing new, of course, but there’s a deeper and more interesting truth behind the mindset of those who cover the news and try to shape public perception of events.

Beltway journalists, including the few conservatives, are obsessed with every minor matter that comes across Twitter. These poor souls live and die with every political utterance, every innuendo, every smear, every jot and tittle of political gossip. We're not immune to this ourselves. But we endeavor not to lose sight, as so many people in our line of work do, of the fact that there is much of importance to the public that is not retailed endlessly through the well-curated Twitter feeds of like-minded Beltway journalists.
