Anons - I had the unique, once-in-a-lifetime honor of attending the swearing in of a Supreme Court Justice. It was in 1991 and I was living in the DC area. I'm not an important person with any significant political ties, but I was good friends with a guy who was the head of a local Black Conservatives organization at the time. He was given two VIP passes and I was lucky enough too be invited me along. It was held outside and although I didn't get to actually meet Justice Thomas or shake his hand, I did meet Sly Stallone there and exchanged pleasantries.
Not even sure why I'm sharing this with you, other than to say the last night had special meaning for me. Full circle.
P.S. During my 10 years as a financial advisor in DC I had a few minor encounters with what we now know to be…The Swamp. Once was when an attorney working with Vince Foster's widow came into the office to convert the ownership of his brokerage accounts from individual to "The estate of…" accounts. I happened to be the next advisor in the rotation that day so I handled all the routine paperwork.
